Mailbox Monday - $8.19 check from selldvdsonline.com

Happy Mailbox Monday everyone!

My favorite piece of mail this past week was the $8.19 check from selldvdsonline.com.

It's a website where you can sell unwanted CDs, DVDs, and video games. I have a lot of clutter in my room so it felt really good to get rid of some CDs, DVDs, and video games I don't want anymore.

selldvdsonline.com is very easy to use. All you do is enter the UPC code of the CDs, DVDs, and video games you want to sell and you'll instantly receive a quote.

Here's a picture of everything I received:

February 22nd
-DC comic book
-Marie Claire magazine
-Dove coupon I won from Dove's Twitter @Dove_Chocolate
-selldvdsonline.com check for $8.19

February 24th
-Entertainment Weekly

February 25th
-OK! magazine

If you have any freebies you've received in the mail lately feel free to share them with me and the other Mailbox Monday participants at http://www.afrugalfriend.net.

Eliminated full price on toothpaste & candy! I only spent $0.43!

It shouldn't be a surprise I eliminated full price at CVS again. I brought my total down from $8.27 to $0.43. Then I used the CVS gift card I got for free from mypoints to cover the $0.43.

Here's what I got:

-2 Colgate Maxwhite Toothpastes x $2.99 each = $5.98
-1 bag of Gold Emblem Jelly Beans
-1 Cadbury Caramel Egg

Total with 9.25% Ca tax and without coupons/discounts: $8.27

Coupons I used:

-$5.00 Extra Care Bucks
-$1.00 Extra Care Bucks
-$0.99 Extra Care Bucks
-$0.50 off 1 Colgate Toothpaste

Total with 9.25% Ca tax and with coupons/discounts: $0.43

Then I earned $4.00 Extra Care bucks from the 2 Colgate Toothpastes, $0.99 Extra Care Bucks from the Jelly Beans, and $1.00 from the Cadbury Caramel Egg because the $0.75 Extra Care Bucks I was supposed to receive didn't print the first time.

I earned a total of $5.99 in Extra Care Bucks from this transaction.

$8.27 total without coupons - $0.43 with coupons = $7.84 full price eliminated!

Eliminated Full Price on Linea Pelle! I spent $21.97 on a wallet worth $181.33!

I successfully eliminated full price on a Dylan Croco Zip Wallet by Linea Pelle. The wallet normally costs $155.00. With shipping and tax the full price is $181.33.

After my $100 code, 30% off discount, and eBates rebate, the wallet cost me $21.97! Keep on reading to see how I eliminated full price on it!

First, I'll show off some pictures of it:

It arrived beautifully wrapped in Linea Pelle's signature zebra print tissue paper:

The wallet came inside a brown box, with a product care card, and an envelope with a surprise free gift:

Inside the envelope was a cute holiday gift which I believe are magnets:

Inside the box, the wallet was also wrapped in Linea Pelle's signature zebra print tissue paper:

This is the front of the Dylan Croco Zip Wallet after I unwrapped it:

This is the back of the wallet:

This is what the wallet looks like inside:

Here's an up close picture of the zebra print lining:

The Linea Pelle plate inside the wallet:

My new wallet hanging out with my Chanel flap:

I first heard of Linea Pelle in 2009 when they held a couple of online contests. I won a bracelet/cuff from one of those contests which I wrote about in one of my first blogs on this website. (You can read that blog post here: http://www.eliminatefullprice.com/2010/01/lovin-linea-pelle.html)

I also got a free studded bracelet for posting a picture of myself wearing the bracelet/cuff I won on their Facebook page in 2009.

In 2010, Linea Pelle posted on their Facebook page they needed freelance writers to write blog posts for their website. I love to write so I sent them an e-mail and told them I was interested in writing for their blog.

They accepted me and I had two blog posts published on their website. My first blog post was about the red carpet fashion on the 2010 SAG Awards. My second blog post was about the earthquake in Chile.

I was paid $50 per blog post. Since I had two posts I earned a total of $100. The only catch was I only could use the $100 toward a purchase at Linea Pelle's website lpcollection.com. (I don't think they're currently looking for bloggers anymore since their blog says "coming soon" at lpcollection.com.)

I was going crazy trying to figure out what to do with my $100 Linea Pelle code. I thought about buying one of their bags but I already have enough handbags in my life. I didn't need another one.

It was hard to chose what to get since they have so many cute products. I thought about getting a wallet but I didn't want to pay too much out of pocket.

It turned out my indecisiveness worked out in my favor. At the beginning of the February, Linea Pelle had all the items in their Gift Shop section on sale at 30% off!

I knew it was the perfect time to finally use my $100 Linea Pelle code. I had my eye on the Dylan Croco Zip Wallet which retails for $155.00. After tax and shipping the total would have been $181.33.

The Dylan Croco Zip Wallet was on sale for $105.00. I decided to get it in the Concorde color which is basically dark purple.

My subtotal was $5.00 after I redeemed my $100 Linea Pelle code.

Shipping was $11.99 and tax was $9.71.

My total was $26.70.

At eBates, Linea Pelle cash back is 4.5%. They gave me 4.5% of my $105.00 subtotal before $100 code was applied which is $4.73.

$26.70 total after code/discount - $4.73 eBates = $21.97 is my total out of pocket expense on my new Linea Pelle Wallet!

$181.33 total without $100 code/discount/eBates - $21.97 total after $100 code/30% off discount/4.5% cash back from eBates = $159.36 full price eliminated!

This wallet is very practical. It has a lot of compartments. I can fit a lot of cash, coins, and cards inside. One of the issues I had with my past wallets was the lack of room for coins. There's a zip compartment inside the wallet that can fit lots of coins.

I love the wrist strap since it can double as a clutch too.

The leather feels so nice. The croco embossed design is unique. The brass studs and hardware is eye catching and is a good contrast with the wallet's color. I feel so fortunate that I was able to eliminate full price on it.

Eliminated full price on oral care @ CVS! I spent only $2.00!

This week at CVS there are Extra Care Bucks (ECBs) deals on Colgate Sensitive Toothpaste and Listerine Zero/Total Care Mouth Wash. I wanted to roll some of my ECBs so I took advantage of the deals. I only paid $2.00 for 2 toothpastes and 2 mouth washes!

Here's what I got for a total of $2.00:

2 Colgate Sensitive Toothpastes x $3.79 each = $7.58
1 Listerine Total Care x $3.99 each = $3.99
1 Listerine Zero x $3.99 each = $3.99

Total with 9.25% CA tax and without coupons = $17.00

Here's the coupons I used:

$7.00 ECBs
$4.00 ECBs
$1.00 off 1 Colgate Sensitive Toothpaste from the February 18, 2011 issue of All You magazine
$1.00 off 1 Colgate Sensitive Toothpaste from 2/6/11 Smart Source coupon insert
$1.00 off 1 Listerine Total Care from 1/9/11 Smart Source coupon insert
$1.00 off 1 Listerine Zero Smart Source coupon insert

Total with 9.25% CA tax and with coupons = $2.00

$17.00 total without coupons - $2.00 total with coupons = $15.00 full price eliminated!

Plus I got back $7.58 ECBs from the 2 Colgate Sensitive Toothpastes and $4.00 ECBs from the 2 Listerine's.

Total ECBs received: $11.58
