Sunday Savings @ Hallmark, Sears, & CVS - How I spent $5.75 on items worth $52.26

The rain did not stop me from eliminating full price on Sunday. I only spent $5.75 on items worth $52.26!

Here's a group picture of everything I got on Sunday:

I went to Eastridge Mall because it has a Hallmark store and Sears. I had a coupon for $5.00 off a $5.00 or more purchase at Hallmark. Also, it was Sears' Friends and Family discount event where from 6 PM to 9 PM there was an additional 20% off most merchandise.

I first went to Hallmark and decided to get black ribbon and tissue paper to hopefully use for the Backstreet Boys Cruise Door Decorating Contest.

-1 roll of black ribbon x $3.99 each = $3.99
-1 package of tissue x $1.49 each = $1.49

Total without coupon & 9.25% CA tax: $5.99

Coupon used:

-$5.00 off a $5.00 or more purchase

Total after $5.00 off coupon & 9.25% CA tax: $0.99

Next I went to Sears and got a black cami that costs $16.00.

-1 black cami x $16.00 each = $16.00

Total without friends & family discount, gift cards, & 9.25% CA tax : $17.48

Discounts & gift cards used:

-The cash registers at Sears were programmed to automatically deduct 20% off qualifying apparel. 20% off $16.00 is $3.20.
-I had a $10.00 Sears gift card that I won from My Coke Rewards
-I had a $1.69 General Growth Properties AMEX gift card

Total with
friends & family discount, gift cards, & 9.25% CA tax : $2.29

I then left Eastridge and went to CVS. I wanted to get foot insoles for my shoes. I also wanted to try a product called Friction Block which is supposed to prevent blisters from wearing shoes. Then I read online that the CVS coupon center was printing a coupon for $2.50 off Planters Grove Almonds. The almonds are on sale for $2.50 which makes them free after using the coupon.

Here's what I got at CVS:

-1 Friction Block x $7.49 each = $7.49
-1 bag of Planters Grove Almonds x $2.50 each = $2.50
-1 Dr. Scholl's For Her Comfort Gel Insoles x $14.29 each = $14.29

Total without coupons and with 9.25% CA tax: $26.29

Coupons used:

-$4.00 off a $20.00 purchase
-$9.99 Extra Care Bucks
-$5.00 Extra Care Bucks
-$2 off any
Dr. Scholl's For Her Comfort Gel Insoles
-$2.50 off Planters Grove Almonds

Total after coupons and with 9.25% CA tax: $2.47

Then I got back $1.00 in Extra Care Bucks because it was my 4th green bag tag scan.

I had my mom's CVS card so when I scanned it at the CVS coupon center a $2.50 off
Planters Grove Almonds coupon printed. Since I was with my dad, I made him do a transaction with just the almonds and coupon.

My dad got:

-
1 bag of Planters Grove Almonds x $2.50 each = $2.50

Total without coupon: $2.50 (Food isn't taxed in CA)

Coupon used:

-$2.50 off Planters Grove Almonds

Total with coupon: $0.00

If you have a CVS Extra Care card make sure to scan it at the in store coupon center to get the
$2.50 off Planters Grove Almonds coupon. Be sure to use it this week since its on sale for $2.50 which makes it free after the coupon.

My total out of pocket expense for my Sunday shopping was $5.75. When I add up the full price of everything without coupons and discounts it's $52.26.

$52.26 - $5.75 = $46.51 savings

I was able to eliminate $46.51!
